Parents of New Scouts-WELCOME TO THE TROOP I am sure you are very proud of your son and his accomplishments in Cub Scouting. I know I was as my two older sons moved through the ranks and earned their Arrow of Light.
When they started in the Troop, I had lots of questions- I am sure you have similar questions.
Over the last couple of years the Troop has made a serious effort in increasing the amount of information that is available to help address your questions. This website is an outstanding resource and is continually updated with new information. Please be sure that you or your son regularly review the contents so that they too will have the most up-to-date information.
Another question that we receive regularly is "what can I do to help?" There is so much you can do-the first is to be involved in your son's Scouting activities.
1.) Come on the camping trips-we always need adult participation; it's fun, the food is great and the memories will last a lifetime.
2.) Help out at the Court-of-Honors-preparation, food, clean-up,
3.) Help out with the program-we always are looking for people with special interests or talents
4.) Be a Merit Badge Counselor (we will train you) utilize your special interests with the boys
5.) Attend the monthly Committee Meetings-this is your Troop and you have a voice in the management of the Troop.
Any of the Adult Uniform leaders can help answer any questions you may have concerning how you can help. Any Troop, regardless of size, needs the help of the parents to ensure a strong program. I think we have a great program now and with your help, we can make it even better. Thank you for the vote of confidence as your son joins the Troop - we will not disappoint either of you.
